The Expansion Regions Hospital has grown from a 10-bed facility in 1872 to an advanced state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center. Today we offer award-winning care in many areas including heart, stroke and neurosciences. As the demand for Regions Hospital services and specialties grows, the expansion is designed to meet the increasing and highest-priority health care needs of the region. The expansion profoundly changes our patients' experience through many improvements, including our new 11-story patient tower. Construction of the expansion began in late 2006 and the new patient tower will open in September 2009. In addition, the expansion provides for a high percentage of private rooms, logical and thoughtful space planning and improved flow inside and outside the campus.
Highlights of the project include: The expansion of Regions Hospital continues our tradition of excellence in patient care and takes it one step further by providing our patients with a hotel-like atmosphere and a personalized approach. Our new 11-story patient tower incorporates the latest in design and medical technology and features stunning views of downtown St. Paul.
